MADELEINE PECK- WAGNER

Peck-Wagner draws highly aestheticized animal forms as an attempt to reconcile fixed notions of beauty with that which is imperfect and flawed. And too, because she believes that if the imaginary line between animals and humans can be blurred and softened, and that cultural action—steeped in respect and compassion—can point in the direction of a more hopeful future; a future where schizophrenic capitalistic concerns are not at the fore of culture.
